SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2017 – BEREA COLLEGE

The 2ND Annual Kentucky Hunger Dialogue, hosted by the Berea College and the Kentucky Campus Compact on September 30th, 2017 was an exciting event that brought together interdisciplinary collaborations from colleges and universities, anti-hunger advocates, community leaders, intriguing speakers, and food justice activists from across Kentucky. Attendees networked, learned about strategies, and created a vision for a food secure future. The 2017 event featured sessions like “What’s Kentucky Eating? What’s Eating Kentucky?”, hunger and intersectionality, on-campus hunger, and “Putting a Face on Kentucky Hunger.”

Hunger is a social issue that amplifies other inequities. Let’s talk about the intersections of hunger with race, ethnicity, gender, immigration status, accessibility, and more. How are these intersections lived in Kentucky, and how are they being addressed? Let’s explore potential strategies and solutions together.
